DJI, the world’s leading drone manufacturer, has done it again with their latest Mavic 3 Pro drone release. This new version boasts not two, but three powerful cameras, making it a triple-camera powerhouse that’s sure to impress.

The Triple-Camera System

The Mavic 3 Pro’s triple-camera system includes a four-thirds Hasselblad camera with a 24mm lens, a new 70mm medium-tele camera, and a 166mm zoom camera for more precise framing. The Hasselblad camera can shoot video at a maximum resolution of 5.1K at up to 50 fps, and it can do slow-mo 120fps with DCI 4K mode.

The new 3x camera can shoot video at 4K/60fps and take photos up to 48 megapixels on a 1/1.3" CMOS sensor. In addition, the Mavic 3 Pro’s tele camera now supports a wider f/3.4 aperture (previously f/4.4) and 4K/60fps video.

Flight Time and Other Features

Due to the extra camera power, the Mavic 3 Pro gets a maximum of 43 minutes of flight time compared to 46 minutes on the standard Mavic 3. Still, these numbers assume you’re not using DJI’s APAS 5.0 obstacle avoidance tech and aren’t shooting video. Other features still the same in the Mavic 3 Pro include DJI’s “OccuSync” O3+ tech with 80 MB/s file transfer speeds to your mobile device over Wi-Fi 6 and 1080p/60 live feeds to the DJI RC controller.

The Mavic 3 Pro includes DJI’s “intelligent” modes like the company’s stable track shot FocusTrack feature and the ability to automatically shoot and edit videos with MasterShots.

Mavic 3 Pro Cine

The Mavic 3 Pro Cine is a slightly more movie-focused version of the Mavic 3 Pro that supports Apple ProRes encoding (422 HQ, 422, and 422 LT) and includes 1TB of internal storage to handle that footage. It costs $4,799 in the total premium combo package with RC Pro controller, which is surprisingly less than the previous Cine launched for $5,000.

Packages and Availability

The Mavic 3 Pro is available for order on DJI’s website and other stores and will start shipping in May. It comes in different packages, including the $2,999 Fly More Combo, the $2,199 basic package with the controller (which is $150 more than the standard Mavic 3), and the $3,889 Fly More Combo with an upgraded RC Pro controller that adds a couple of antennas plus the ability to capture a live video feed.

The Mavic 3 Pro is a powerful and versatile drone that will impress hobbyists and professionals alike. Its triple-camera system, intelligent modes, and other features make it a must-have for anyone looking to take their aerial photography and videography to the next level.
